Can your stone be installed anywhere in the country?
Hill Country Rock will supply stone to customers in most climates, provided the owner/installer acknowledges and agrees that the performance of any natural stone in exterior installations is the purchaser’s and their agents’ responsibility. As a natural product, Hill Country Rock does not ‘engineer’ stone for specific environments or applications, so it is solely up to the client to determine if a natural stone will be suitable for their intended use. For example, stones that do not perform well under numerous freeze-thaw cycles may still fare well in subfreezing climates with minimal precipitation. Performance can also be significantly influenced by factors such as installation orientation (horizontal vs vertical) and the use of sealers to repel moisture or reduce absorption. If you have a particular stone in mind for a specific application, we strongly recommend consulting with your architect and/or contractor and reaching out to a company that manufactures natural stone sealers to understand which products and application processes will help your project last.
